SpectrumLabs.com is introducing the new, second generation KR2i TFF System [KrosFlo® Research 2i Tangential Flow Filtration]. You may be familiar with the first generation KRIIi, KrosFlo® Research IIi TFF System, our most popular pump system.

The second generation KR2i is a fully automated pump system.

The system consists of a digital peristaltic pump, a computer tablet with man/machine interface and graphical LCD display, a pump head, a new automated backpressure valve, a digital pressure monitor and transducers, digital readouts of pressure values with automated shut-off controls, module stand, and real-time data collection software–KF Comm. KF Comm is a software program that automatically receives and graphs the run data (12 real-time operating parameters and 8 processing parameters) into a Microsoft Excel® spreadsheet.

The KR2i is ideal for small volume, R&D scale microfiltration and ultrafiltration, with processing volume ranges from 1 ml to 10 L.

The KR2i is designed to interface with a number of auxiliary scales and pumps to enable automated process controls. The auxiliary components allow applications to scale up from small, research and development to larger, production-level processes. For an example of application, scientists at UCLA (in a paper titled “Highly efficient large-scale lentiviral vector concentration by tandem tangential flow filtration” in the October 2011 issue of the Journal of Virological Methods) used the KR2i to simplify their lentiviral vector concentration process. The second generation KR2i comes with new features and equipment, including a completely redesigned starter kit. It will be available for order on October 3rd, 2016.
