A partnership of researchers from Harvard University and Stanford University collaborated on an article in the July 2015 issue of Acta Biomaterialia. In the article, “Engineered composite fascia for stem cell therapy in tissue repair applications”, the scientists used our 1 kDa and 50 kDa Standard RC dialysis tubing to dialyze a collagen solution.

The object of the study was to engineer and evaluate a composite for effective restoration of “large soft tissue defects caused by trauma or treatment complications”. The resulting composite effectively adhered and prevented further trauma by hernia in rats over an 8-week period.

Abstract: A critical challenge in tissue regeneration is to develop constructs that effectively integrate with the host tissue.
